Job Description: Nest Curriculum Coordinator
Direct Supervisor: Head of Nest
Responsibilities: The Curriculum Coordinator (CC) is a leadership role, responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the curriculum throughout all areas of Nest. The CC is also responsible for supporting the general Nest administration alongside the Head of Nest.
The CC will be brought in to work as part of Nest and Bloom’s Senior Leadership team when necessary and play a key role in embedding the school’s vision, mission and values through their work and their work with others.
Curriculum and Instruction
1. Assist the Head of Early Years in establishing and maintaining a vibrant and thriving school.
2. To develop a detailed understanding and implementation of the PBL among the Nest faculty.
3. To work with faculty and administration to establish the in-service and professional development training needs, to facilitate peer inquiry visits, team teaching and mentoring to develop inquiry-based strategies.
4. To coordinate the progression of literacy and numeracy skills within and outside the PBL.
5. To support and monitor collaborative planning between the teaching staff and monitor articulation between grade levels and specialists.
6. To manage documentation relating to all aspects of the curriculum.
7. To oversee the updating of the CCF les(both hard copy and electronic).
8. To liaise with the Head of Bloom and Nest and the Bloom CC in developing and providing orientation for newly recruited faculty members.
9. To liaise with the Head of Nest, Bloom and Bloom Librarian and teaching staff to recommend and purchase resources and materials in support of the curriculum
10. To maintain his or her own professional development.
Communication
1. To circulate current relevant PBL and PD information to faculty.
2. To liaise with Bloom regarding the articulation of programmes and transition of children.
Organisation
1. To participate in creating an ongoing development plan for the future of Nest.
2. To liaise with, and provide support for teachers and the Head of Nest in implementing non-instructional aspects of the curriculum e.g. parent information sessions, student-led conferences, assemblies and in-house workshops.
3. To support faculty with portfolios.
4. To support the creation and implementation of the school’s strategic and development plans.
5. To accept any other reasonable duties delegated by the Head of Nest to ensure that quality educational programmes take place in a safe, positive and healthy learning environment.
Education & Experience: Master's degree or equivalent work experience
● Qualied primary or EYFS teacher with at least five years of direct teaching experience
● Experience in providing teacher supervision and evaluation.
● Responsibility for leading and evaluating whole school initiatives.
● At least one year of experience in leadership concerning curriculum development
Skills and Qualities:
● Ability to promote the welfare of all children and positively promote diversity and inclusion.
● Communicate clearly with all stakeholders
● Good interpersonal and negotiating skills
● Ability to lead, support, advise and work collaboratively with colleagues and delegate appropriately
● Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines
● Use the computer and software efciently
● Strong organisation skills
